Amazon Buys Zoox, a Startup Developing Autonomous Vehicles

Zoox is a company that is developing autonomous vehicles. It is headquartered in Foster City, California and has offices in Seattle and San Francisco Bay Area. It also provides Mobility-as-a-Service to consumers.

270-Degree Field of View

The Zoox car has a 270-degree field of view, but it doesn’t come without its own share of safety technology. For one thing, the car features airbags to keep passengers from becoming disoriented in the event of a crash. It also has four wheel steering, which allows the vehicle to maneuver in tight spaces.

The car also uses a LiDAR system to help the car keep an eye on its surroundings. This tech can detect obstacles on either side of the car, and prevents the vehicle from being blindsided. Moreover, the car has a five-star rating in crash tests.

The car has a 133 kWh battery that can give it a run time of up to 16 hours. In addition, it has an array of cameras and radar, which gives the vehicle a 270-degree field of view. Lastly, the vehicle features a fancy four-wheel steering system, which allows it to steer in either direction.

The Zoox car also has a special airbag system that helps to keep passengers separated in the event of a crash. Another interesting feature of the vehicle is the fact that it can go up to 75 miles per hour.

133kWh Battery Pack

Amazon recently announced that it had bought Zoox, a startup developing autonomous vehicles. The company’s new electric vehicle features a 133kWh battery pack that can sustain a 16-hour ride between charges.

This electric vehicle is also equipped with an advanced radar system that allows it to operate in dense urban environments. It is built for four passengers, and it features symmetric seating that is similar to that of a train. Each seat has three-point seat belts, a cup holder, and a small armrest.

The battery is rated for a range of 16 hours on a single charge, and it’s capable of charging wirelessly. In addition, the taxi is designed for a 270-degree view at all four corners, which eliminates typical blind spots.

Another unique feature of the vehicle is its ability to change directions without reversing. This feature is referred to as vectored steering. It reduces the costs associated with sideways docking. Also, the vehicle is equipped with a 133kWh battery pack that offers double the capacity of the Nissan Leaf.

Room for four Passengers

Zoox has designed a self-driving vehicle for four passengers. It is a bit different than other vehicles on the road today, which are generally self-driving in name only. The main difference is the size of the battery, which is more than twice the size of a typical electric car, and the vehicle itself, which is half the size of a Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla.

Several cities around the world are testing the robotaxi, including San Francisco and Las Vegas. It is still in its early stages, and it is not clear whether Zoox can actually provide an e-shuttle, but it has been touted as a possible successor to the Lyft and Uber.

Although it is still a prototype, the company has made a lot of progress. In particular, the VH6 is a great example of the many innovations the company has brought to the market. Aside from the most obvious features, such as the sleek exterior and bidirectional driving capacity of the seats, the company has managed to include wireless phone charging space, air-conditioning, and even a screen to change the fragrance in the air.

Travel at up to 75 mph

Zoox is a robotic transportation system that’s being built by Amazon and is set to become a ride-hailing service. Initially, the company intends to target San Francisco and Las Vegas. But, it also plans to expand to package deliveries in the future.

The company’s self-driving vehicle combines artificial intelligence, robotics, and sustainable energy. It has a 133 kilowatt-hour battery pack, which offers 16 hours of driving.

The four-person ‘robotaxi’ has a carriage style interior, with four-wheel steering. This feature allows the vehicle to maneuver through tight spaces and change directions without having to reverse.

The vehicle’s interior has a starry sky pattern on the ceiling and cozy bench seats with cup holders. A small touchscreen at each seat allows passengers to control the car’s functions.

One of the Zoox robotaxi’s best features is its airbag system, which “envelops” passengers. According to the press release, the system “provides four-star crash safety protection for all four passengers.”

The vehicle is capable of traveling at up to 75 mph. Four-wheel steering is also included, which is useful when the driver wants to drive in a tight space.
